Mr Wong Seremban Beef Noodle
Blk 84 Marine Parade Central
#01-184
Should you queue up to eat there? If you like beef noodles, yes.
Are there secret items on the menu? No.
What is the one thing you must order? Beef noodles, dry.
The beef noodles here are really different from most other places – there’s a strong hint of beef in the sauce, for one. It’s also sweeter and thicker, with less MSG I believe. The beef slices are generous, though if you like yours to be more raw you have to tell them. The auntie is very obliging if you want more sauce.
They also give a lot of condiments with the noodles – spring onions, roasted nuts and some weird pickle thing. I don’t like pickles, so I get more nuts and less pickles generally. Oh, and the soup is very flavourful. You can taste more beef than salt, unlike the usual beef noodle stalls.
No shortage of accolades forthem. I’ve not tried anything but the dry beef noodles, but it’s good enough for me to come back three times in one week.
The price list and opening hours. The large bowl gives you enough noodles even if you are a big eater (like me). So just order the large. You get more beef as well.
More accolades. Why would you want to tabao and eat elsewhere? Eat it right here! That’s when it’s freshest. I’m not sure how al dente the noodles will be if you take it back, plus the beef might get overcooked if you leave it for too long.
The queue on a Saturday afternoon. I think this speaks for itself, right? Turnover is pretty quick though.
Just in case you don’t know what signboard out for, here it is. Auntie was too quick for me, sigh. Also, ieatishootipost’s review. If I get sick of the noodles I’ll let you know, but that hasn’t happened yet. I hope it never will.
Doesn’t this large bowl just look scrumptious?
