M3 (Menasor)
4 Scout/Commander + 1 Ultra Sized Combiner (approximately)
FansProject
Price: $500-$650 (secondary market, approximately)
Should you buy him at $500? Yes!
Should you buy him, no matter the price? $600 should be your upper limit.
Menasor is a strange choice for a third party combiner, seeing as which he’s only a combiner made out of cars. Of course, for regular people a combiner would be impressive enough, but Transformers fans are hard to please. He can’t just be a combiner, he needs another cool element! Like he’s made up of construction vehicles, or he’s the first combiner, or he’s made up of crazy dangerous mythical animals, or he’s made up of planes, or he’s made up of other things far cooler than ordinary cars!
But I digress. Part of the reason Menasor is so underwhelming, apart from the fact that he’s made up entirely of cars, is that he’s small. Probably larger than a Leader class toy to be sure, but he doesn’t pack the presence and impact that we’ve come to expect from third party combiners. And his individual components are really tiny, with the exception of Diesel (Motormaster). So he’s not going to be scaring off any Autobots soon.
Still, a combiner is a combiner, and Diesel (Motormaster) is a fantastic figure. It’s just that his four other team mates really drag him down, which really makes this a difficult decision. Should you buy M3 (Menasor)?
I’d say yes – but only after you’ve bought the other third party combiners.
Anyways, on to the pictures!

See what I mean about the individual members being really tiny? As in, much tinier than a Deluxe. I suppose you can get used to it, but it also makes them more difficult to transform, and you’re a lot more worried about breaking them. I’m not entirely sure how hardy they are, but when they are that size and it’s third party plastic… I’m not running that risk.

As you can see here, Diesel is abnormally large. I get it that he’s supposed to be bigger than the other Stunticons, but he’s Ultra sized! You could, I suppose, form Menasor with just Diesel and stick on other random cars to for his limbs, since Diesel pretty much comes with the skeleton for Menasor.
Diesel (Motormaster) Intimidator Mode
OK, this is one thing I have to applaud. They made the effort to design it such that you can stick all of the Diesel (Motormaster)’s kibble on him and form the “Intimidator” mode. These parts also form the skeleton of Menasor.

He does look much cooler like this.

I haven’t finished flogging that horse yet. Look how big Diesel (Motormaster) is compared to the rest!

M3 (Menasor)
The great thing is that Menasor comes with a giant rifle and a sword. I like weapons, and more weapons are always good.
M3 (Menasor) vs Uranos (Superion)
This picture makes M3 (Menasor) look even more underwhelming.
Well, in any case, Menasor is a worthy addition if you have completed all the other combiners. If you haven’t, get them first. Check out Warlord (Predaking) and I’ll be reviewing Uranos (Superion) soon!
