[Star Wars Transformers] 5 Star Wars Transformers that should be re-released

So remember how some years back, there were Star Wars Transformers? Later on they re-branded it as Transformers: Crossovers along with the Star Wars branding, but the toys still had both logos on them. It was a pretty awesome idea, since most characters had a vehicle that was strongly associated with them. But with a long hiatus between the previous Episode and the new one, it was inevitable that this line had to be dropped.

But we’ve got Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming up! We don’t need to see a re-release of the entire line, but here are five Star Wars Transformers that would definitely get sold out if they came out again.

1)Clone Commander Cody/Turbo Tank

Officially designated CC-2224, Clone Commander Cody was one of the more outstanding troopers (which is an impressive feat, considering they all look alike), and eventually got assigned to work with Obi-Wan Kenobi during the Clone Wars. His robot mode looks suitable imposing and bulky compared to most of the other Star Wars Transformers, who have a more slender aesthetic.

But it’s his Turbo Tank mode that’s the more interesting transformation. You know what’s the other name for the Turbo Tank? Heavy Assault Vehicle Wheeled A6 Juggernaut. That’s right, his alternate mode is also called a Juggernaut, just to give you an idea of how powerful his vehicular form is. He may be one of the few ground vehicles in Star Wars Transformers, but he’s also one of the most fearsome.

2)Han Solo & Chewbacca/Millennium Falcon

If you like Transformers combiners, you’re in luck — that’s effectively what Han Solo & Chewbacca are! Granted, they don’t transform into a larger robot, but they transform into the Millennium Falcon. It’s difficult to top that transformation!

The interesting thing is how all the weapons and asymmetrical parts of the Millennium Falcon end up becoming weapons and cannons on their robot bodies. The iconic circular windows also end up on prominent positions on Han Solo and Chewbacca, which immediately shows you what they’re supposed to transform into.

3)Yoda/Republic Attack Shuttle

Yoda isn’t so much awesome as he is cute. It’s hard to replicate his Jedi robes since he transforms into a futuristic space shuttle, so he ends up looking like he’s in a Clone Trooper’s uniform. It’s not too bad a look, but his impish proportions do make him look comical.

But he makes up for it with a ferocious expression on his face, and his very own lightsaber! He’s also not that much smaller than the other Star Wars Transformers figures (though honestly, it would be tough to make him proportional to the other figures), which gives you a little more bang for your buck.

4)Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader/Star Destroyer/Republic Attack Cruiser

Not only is he much, much larger than the other Star Wars Transformers, he’s also got four different transformations! So you can re-enact the transformation from Anakin Skywalker to Darth Vader, as he crosses from good to evil. There’s even a good (Republic Attack Cruiser) and evil (Star Destroyer) vehicle mode he can turn into, which match the respective personas.

But having four transformations does come with some drawbacks. He has some pretty large, unwieldy accessories, and he is incredibly difficult to balance and pose. Still, when you have four different transformations, does that really matter?

5)Darth Vader/Death Star

And here we have what is the greatest feat of engineering that the Star Wars Transformers ever came up with. Turning Darth Vader into the Death Star! His chest is even reminiscent of the planet destroying superlaser on the Death Star itself, so you know his alternate mode is the Death Star.

Anyway, his robot mode even comes with a flowing cloth cape! It’s difficult to make it look good though (you’ll need a good measure of wind at the right angles to give his cape some body), but it’s a nice addition to what is a masterpiece of a toy.

Are there any characters you’d like to see as Star Wars Transformers?
