Starting this month, we’ll be premiering a new monthly feature about movies that’ll be screening in cinemas islandwide! We’ll also highlight films that you must see in cinemas every month.
What films to see this March?
March sees not one, but two Biblical epics coming out — “Risen” and “The Young Messiah.” But on top of that, we’ve got a slew of sequels arriving, as well as a comedy every week. Puts you right in the mood for April Fool’s Day, doesn’t it?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (24 March)
Fearing the actions of a god-like superhero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day saviour, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Logically, we all know who would win in a fight between Batman and Superman. But that doesn’t make it any less exciting to see these two icons go head to head in a battle on the big screen! And with so many other superheroes popping up (Wonder Woman, Aquaman) and the debut of Lex Luthor and Doomsday, it’s going to be every DC fan’s dream come true.
Kung Fu Panda 3 (10 March)
When Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears, the reunited duo travels to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!
It’s Po — times a hundred! If one furry adorable panda was enough to send us into stitches, imagine what an entire army of them could do. And if all pandas have the same affinity for martial arts as Po does, we’ll be treated to one of the greatest fight sequences in animation in the film.
Zoolander 2 (3 March)
Set 10 years later after the events of the first movie, dim-witted supermodel Derek Zoolander has settled into being a family man and now has a teenage son to mentor. Along with fellow model, Hansel, the duo decide to re-invent themselves according to the times or face being forgotten. But it`s not that easy, as it seems like the evil fashion mogul, Mugatu, is back in the picture.
We’ve waited for this sequel for a decade and a half, ever since the first film didn’t screen on our shores. The paragon of every himbo in existence finally returns, giving us more ways to tease our friends who are blessed with beauty but not brains. And those random cameos (like Justin Beiber) in the film? It’s just icing on the cake.
