A new series of movies means that yes, we’ve got ourselves a new Millennium Falcon scaled for our 3.75″ Star Wars figures! It’s the third version of the vehicle to be released in toy form, which is especially timely since the Millennium Falcon will actually be in the “The Force Awakens!”

Features and accessories.
Features and accessories.

Most notable is the fact that this Millennium Falcon includes a large Nerf cannon in the centre of the spacecraft. It’s the first time we’ve seen such a weapon on the Millennium Falcon, so it could mean that it’ll actually sport such armaments when we next see it on the big screen.

It also comes with lights and sounds, but you’d expect that with a toy this large.

Finn and Chewie.

It also includes a figure of the cute BB-8, for a grand total of three additional figures. That’s one more than the 2008 Millennium Falcon had (it came with Han Solo and Chewbacca).

Action figures.

The figures are prominently displayed on the box, so you know exactly who you’re getting with the Millennium Falcon.

Both Finn and Chewbacca come with a weapon each, as well as their comms systems.

So here’s what it looks like right out of the box!

Bottom of the Millennium Falcon.

One thing to note is that it doesn’t come with detachable landing gear, so you can just lay it flat on the ground and it’ll be stable. Thank goodness — having such pieces was a tremendous pain.

Back of the Millennium Falcon

The back has its trademark hyperdrive all lit up, so it looks like its ready to blast off into the far side of the galaxy.

Front of the Millennium Falcon.

The sculpt is also very detailed — good for customisers who’d like to add more colour and perhaps some dirt and grit to their Millennium Falcons.

Left of the Millennium Falcon.

There’s only one exit to the Millennium Falcon now though. The side doors are a nice detail, but they’re not actually functional.

Right of the Millennium Falcon.

But the cockpit is still functional! Which is the most important part of the ship, of course. How else are you going to pilot it?

NERF cannon!
NERF cannon!

And on the front of the ship, you have the most impressive new feature it has. A cannon that fires NERF darts (with a fair amount of force, as my unwilling victims can attest to).

Cockpit.

The cockpit has enough space for Finn and Chewbacca, but BB-8’s not going to fit inside there.

Controls.

It’s a bit of a squeeze for both Chewie and Finn to fit inside though.

Missile storage.

The sides of the Millennium Falcon open up to hold your NERF missiles (it comes with two).

Extra space.

The other side also opens up to hold more NERF missiles, should you choose to buy more ammo for your Millennium Falcon.

The top panel pops open easily to reveal the inside of the vehicle.

Opening up the Millennium Falcon also activates the missile battery that one of the figures can take aim in.

It also mimics the window design that always see when the Millennium Falcon goes into hyperdrive.

There’s a nice bit of detailing that emulates the various controls and buttons you’d expect this section to have.

So here’s where it feels more like a playset than just a vehicle. There’s a few discrete areas inside the Millennium Falcon, and the armaments integrate nicely into the interior.

Here’s the part which allows you to simulate a holochess game between Chewi and C3PO (not included).

You can have the characters make convenient exits by “going deeper into the Millennium Falcon.”

Medbay.

For the inevitable injuries that your figures will sustain in the course of the war, you have a medbay.

The expanded playset

And here’s the most innovative part of the design yet. The top panel isn’t just a wasted piece of plastic that you leave lying around — it actually connects to the rest of the Millennium Falcon to expand the play area for your figures!

Connectors.

You can connect it at any angle. Especially handy for those who are short on display space or play area.

You can even detach it, and the piece works by itself as a backdrop for posing your figures.

There’s a hefty amount of detail in the flooring, too!

Fortunately, the Millennium Falcon only comes with three detachable pieces. Less to lose!

And if you want more detail, the ever present sticker sheet is here too.

Most of the details are inside the Millennium Falcon, though.

So here’s the new Millennium Falcon! It weighs in at SGD $239.90, but it comes packed with a surprising amount of features, and makes good use of every inch of space it has. Shipping it with BB-8 means that you also get a popular figure with the ship. And besides being a vehicle, it opens up to become a playset.

Will you be getting yours soon?
