I did this project, Then & Now, for Weave, who did it for Cyber Pioneer which is the digital arm of Pioneer which is under MINDEF. Phew, that’s a long trail!
Anyway, Then & Now is about old army bases in Singapore. It was a challenging project because, well, none of those locations are army bases now. What struck me the most was the enthusiastic and patriotic spirit of our army’s pioneers. Back then, Singapore had just started her army and it was in an incredibly vulnerable position, and thanks to all those brave soldiers, we got to the SAF that we have today. I also got to reminisce about SMM, which is now SMTI.
